Award winning metal sculptor, Tom Boring, is the creator of all these wonderful pieces. He is a retired CEO of several international companies. Before his forced early retirement he had never even dabbled in art. As a scientist, engineer and business manager art wasn't remotely a part of his life. Wanting to create sculptures that closely resembled it's species, rather than more conceptual, he began assembling birds, frogs, fish and occasionally, a wild pizza.
The sculptures are put together using TIG welding. While each weld is still hot it is brushed with a brass brush to transfer some of the brass to the metal, giving a wonderful patina to the surface. Some of the welds are so small that they are holding a single set screw in place. It can take many hundreds of small parts to complete a piece. You might want to consider using a magnifying glass to try and identify the components.
